By installing or using Mishkat Al-Wird ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The service
The app is free. It shows athkar (remembrances) and sets reminders on your device. It needs no account and works offline. How it handles your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Content
The athkar are transcribed from well-known collections of hadith and the Qur'an, with their sources shown. We take care over their accuracy, and the texts and references are being reviewed by qualified people. Errors remain possible. If you find one, please tell us so we can correct it. The app is an aid to remembrance and does not replace scholarly guidance.
Reminders
Reminders are delivered by your device's operating system. Their timing depends on the permissions you grant, battery settings, and your manufacturer's handling of background apps. We work hard to make them arrive on time but cannot guarantee that every reminder will be delivered, or delivered at the exact minute. Prayer times are calculated astronomically and may differ slightly from your local mosque.
Sharing
You may share athkar from the app, as images or links, for personal and non-commercial use. Please do not alter a shared text or present it as something it is not.
Acceptable use
Do not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app itself, and do not reverse-engineer it or use it for any unlawful purpose. The app's name, icon and design belong to its developer.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from the use of the app or from being unable to use it, including a reminder that did not arrive.
App stores
If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms apply as well. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be published on this page with a new date, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept it.
